Manchester United left-back Alex Telles will sign for Sevilla on a season-long loan

Manchester United left-back Alex Telles will join Sevilla on loan for the 2022/23 season without an option to buy according to TNT Sports. The player has fallen down the pecking order following the arrival of Tyrell Malacia and will be looking for some game time in Spain.

Erik Ten Hag has preferred Malacia to Telles in pre-season. It is no surprise considering ETH recommended his fellow Dutchman.

Alex Telles arrived at Manchester United in 2020 with a big reputation from FC Porto for €15 million, but has failed to convince the club. He has been underwhelming in his two seasons in the Premier League. The Brazilian international’s impressive crossing was subdued by his slack positioning and defensive susceptibility across his 50 appearances.

At the moment, Sevilla have some rebuilding to do after losing key players like Jules Kounde and Diego Carlos. They also don’t have a player for the left-back position and the 29-year-old Telles could help them fill that void.

Telles will become Sevilla’s second signing of the summer after central defender Marcao joined from Galatasaray.
