According to The Athletic, Arsenal are looking into the possibility of signing Gabriel Jesus from Manchester City this summer. His contract at City enters its final year this summer and the Brazilian international wants to leave and search for regular playing time. With Erling Haaland and Julian Alvarez joining
The 25-year-old worked with Arsenal boss Mikel Arteta at the Etihad when he was Pep Gardiola’s assistant. Arsenal look like favorites to sign Gabriel Jesus and the City attacker is open to the move. The Gunners want to strengthen their attacking options in the summer transfer window with Alexandre Lacazette and Eddie Nketiah leaving the club on free transfers. The report claims Arsenal technical director Edu Gaspar has been holding talks with the Brazil international’s representatives for a number of months.
Jesus has scored 89 goals in 229 appearances for The Citizens since joining the club from Palmeiras in 2017. He has notably underperformed his xG but has consistently outperformed his xA.
