AS Monaco make contact with Juventus for Adrien Rabiot over a return to Ligue 1
According to Gianluca DiMarzio, AS Monaco have made contact with Juventus for midfielder Adrien Rabiot. The club would like to bring the Frrench international back to Ligue 1.
The 27-year-old has been with the Bianconeri for three years now and has made over 140 appearances for the club. Rabiot has scored 14 goals and provided 12 assists in that time.
The former PSG midfielder may be surplus to requirements in Turin and could be heading out of the club. Arthur Melo and Rabiot are seen as excesses due to the arrival of Paul Pogba.
The Monégasques have now made contact to bring the player back to France.
Adrien Rabiot did not join the club’s preseason tour of USA and despite a long-term injury to Pogba, the player could still leave soon.
Having lost Aurelien Tchouameni to Real Madrid, Monaco are looking for a progressive box-to-box midfielder. While Adrien Rabiot fits the bill, he is a different profile. However, Philippe Clement could use the player as a holding midfielder as he did with Tchouameni.
