Various reports signify that Bayern Munich are currently targeting Sergi Roberto of Barcelona. Despite being stacked in multiple positions, Bayern Munich have a gaping hole at right-back. With Joshua Kimmich back to his midfield position, Benjamin Pavard has held the right-back spot and has done reasonably well. His backup Bouna Sarr has been woeful since he joined from Marseille. It was quite obvious to anyone that followed French football that he was never up to Bayern standards. However, the Bavarian club spent 8 million Euros to recruit him. A year of blunders and errors from the Frenchman has led the club’s hierarchy to see their own errors.

Bayern Munich spent last summer chasing American full-back Sergino Dest only for him to join Barcelona. Now, it looks like Bayern are chasing Barcelona’s Sergi Roberto. A rumored move for Lucas Vazquez never materialized. Is Sergi Roberto the man to fill that slot? Well, he completed only 946 minutes of football in La Liga last season and he was not spectacular by any means. He recorded just one goal and two assists across the season across an injury-plagued season. His injury issues should be a major concern for the Bayern bosses as they continue to hamper his trajectory.

Will they continue to chase the Barca man or look for alternatives? We will see.
