Bruno Fernandes set to sign contract extension with Manchester United until 2027
Manchester United have recently had a breakthrough in negotiations with Bruno Fernandes over a new contract

According to reports from England, Bruno Fernandes will sign a new contract that will keep him at Manchester United until 2027. The Portuguese attacking midfielder has been one of United’s best players since arriving from Sporting CP two years ago. Bruno has 49 goals and 39 assists for Manchester United in all competitions. The 27-year-old has scored 35 goals and assisted 25 more in the Premier League since his debut in February 2020. No midfielder has more. Despite a poor campaign, the playmaker has recorded nine goals and 14 assists in 37 appearances for the red devils this season. He had three years left on his current deal with the option of another year, but United have been in talks with his reps for a while about an extension. They have responded positively. Sky Sports believes that he will double his current £120,000-a-week salary.

United are yet to decide their next permanent head coach despite Ole Gunnar Solskjaer leaving months ago. Ralf Rangnick has barely weathered the storm of their campaign, so they need to decide and decide soon. Erik Ten Hag, Mauricio Pochettino, and Brendan Rodgers are the front runners for the job with Roberto Mancini, Luis Enrique, and Julen Lopetegui the outside options. They failed with a dead and buried public interest in Thomas Tuchel while Antonio Conte is reviving the dead horse that is Tottenham. No matter who the next manager is, it will be surprising if Bruno is not an important piece of their project.
