L’equipe report that PSG and S.S.C Napoli midfielder Fabian Ruiz have agreed on a potential deal.

Although the deal is far from complete, the French club has taken the first to sign the midfielder and must now negotiate a transfer fee with Napoli.

PSG has been in contact with the Spaniard, as talks were said to have reached an advanced stage after the player turned down a contract extension at Napoli.

The French club has been looking for a new midfielder to add to their previous signings before the transfer market ends.

GFFN confirmed that contacts were ongoing to sign PSV Eindhoven’s Ibrahim Sangaré but have now turned their attention to signing Ruiz.

Luis Campos, an advisor/sporting director at PSG, has been working hard to bring the player to the French capital and is in pole position to sign him despite interest from Madrid.

There is also an option to sign Ruiz next summer, but PSG will try to lower Napoli’s valuation and finalize the deal before the end of the transfer window.

Ruiz scored seven goals and registered four assists in 32 appearances for Napoli during the 2021/2022 campaign.

The 26-year-old midfielder played a vital role for Napoli as they finished 3rd on the table last season.

If he signs for PSG, Ruiz will become the club’s fourth signing after Les Parisiens completed deals for Hugo Ekitike, Vitinhha, Nordi Mukiele, and Renato Sanches.
