Italy Coach Roberto Mancini Signs Contract Extension with the Italian National Team Until 2026.
Mancini and Italy have qualified for this summer’s Euro tournament and they will be considered favorites. He has won 21 of his 30 matches in charge. His only defeats came against the reigning world champions France and reigning European champions Portugal, both in his first year in the job.
The FIGC President, Gabriele Gravina, said on Monday; “We wanted to give continuity to our work, beyond winning a trophy, there’s a project to work on. Mancini has been working brilliantly for two years and moving forward on this project was a duty out of respect for the Federation and our fans. We made an important choice, supported by us in the Federation and not by different sponsors or other parties. We want to caress the enthusiasm of the Italian fans, now we are aiming to win a trophy that has been missing for years and we must put ourselves forward. Without overthinking if it doesn’t happen, because only one team wins in the end.”
Italy coach Roberto Mancini has signed a contract extension with the Italian National team until 2026. His contract was meant to expire after the 2022 World Cup but his new contract will see the former Manchester City and Inter Milan manager stay with the Azzurri till 2026.
