Juventus close to signing Filip Kostic from Eintracht Frankfurt for €18 million
Filip Kostic will miss Eintracht Frankfurt’s UEFA Super Cup final against Real Madrid with the 29-year-old set to sign for Juventus very soon

Juventus are close to signing Filip Kostic from Eintracht Frankfurt €18 million according to Gianluca DiMarzio. The left-wing-back has been left off Frankfurt’s UEFA Super Cup tie versus Real Madrid to be able to complete the deal.

After agreeing personal terms with the Serbian months ago, Juventus have now agreed a deal with Frankfurt. Kostic was a target for Lazio and West Ham but has chosen to move to the Bianconeri.

Kostic will be Juve’s fifth signing of the summer after securing Gleison Bremer, Paul Pogba, Angel Di Maria, and Andrea Cambiaso.

Kostic had one year left on his contract and with Alex Sandro in decline, Juventus have taken the opportunity to sign the Serbian international. The 29-year-old has made 171 appearances for Frankfurt, scoring 33 goals and assisting 64 more.

Frankfurt board member for sport Markus Krösche said: “Filip performed admirably in the past season and played a big part in winning the UEFA Europa League. We have always said that we would not put any obstacles in the way of a good offer for all sides and that we are ready to talk. We are currently in promising talks with another club and a solution is on the horizon,”

“We are pleased with our squad depth and have a very high level of confidence in the guys, who have all earned their chance and are eager for the upcoming tasks. In light of this, we have decided – also at the request of the possible new club – to play the match against Real Madrid without Filip.”

Juventus will now move on to other targets with Barcelona’s Memphis Depay in their sights.
