Juventus ready to offer FC Barcelona's Memphis Depay two-year contract
Juventus are looking to sign an alternative to Dusan Vlahovic and are currently targeting FC Barcelona’s Memphis Depay according to Gianluca DiMarzio.
The Turin club would like to add another attacker to their frontline, and after failing to land their usual customer Alvaro Morata, they have moved for the 28-year-old Dutch international.
Barcelona will be trying to sell Depay, but he is demanding to leave for free, one year after signing a two-year contract as a free agent. The club is in financial trouble and needs to sell or reduce player salaries to be able to register their new signings.
Barcelona has taken Depay’s number 9 shirt and given it to Robert Lewandowski as the club tries to force players out. The club wants to sell Depay, who finished as their top scorer last season (13 goals plus four assists) and has been impressive in pre-season.
Juventus know of Barcelona’s €20 million price tag on Depay, but they will not match it, especially knowing Barcelona must sell him this month.
If they cannot sign Depay, the Bianconeri have their eyes on Anthony Martial and Luis Muriel.
Juventus are currently closing in on an €18 million deal to sign Eintracht Frankfurt‘s Filip Kostic.
