According to reports in SpainKylian Mbappe will sign for Real Madrid next week after rejecting all advances from PSG to renew his contract. They claim the transfer saga is about to come to an end. The 23-year-old was denied a move to his childhood club last summer after PSG rejected Real’s €200m approach. The Parisians believed they could convince him to stay but they have failed and he will leave on a free transfer to Los Blancos.

Nasser Al-Khelaifi and Leonardo have failed their club on this one. They will lose out on both money and the player. The pair’s incompetence at the helm of the club continues to detract what could be a fantastic project for Ligue 1. Nasser is involved in so many corruption cases while Leonardo gets along with no one and is also quite bad at his job. Together, they continue to drag the Qatari project back while even they themselves don’t see eye to eye. Maybe they’ll realize that what they need is a resounding sporting project and not foreign superstars with nothing to fight for.

PSG’s latest setback saw them lose in dramatic fashion to Real Madrid in the UEFA Champions League. Another capitulation in Europe and an indictment on the terrible job both men have done in building this squad. Mauricio Pochettino has his faults but Carlo AncelottiThomas Tuchel, and Unai Emery have all failed at the Parc Des Princes. Something bigger is going wrong.

Mbappe will receive a signing-on fee of €60-80m while receiving a salary of €25m per year after tax the reports claim. The former AS Monaco wunderkind has become the main figure at PSG despite the presence of Lionel Messi and Neymar. He has scored 14 goals and recorded 10 assists in Ligue 1 this campaign. Including the Coupe de France and UCL, he has 25 goals and 17 assists in all competitions so far. Mbappe has scored 157 goals and assisted 78 more in his 206 appearances for the Parisian club. He also netted 27 and assisted 16 while at Monaco. The French international has scored 24 goals and assisted 20 in 53 matches for France. He is on course to finish as a top 3 scorer in Les Bleus history.

What a signing he’ll be for Florentino Perez! A real Galactico!
