Liverpool have completed the signing of Fulham winger Fabio Carvalho
Liverpool have reportedly completed the signing of Fabio Carvalho from Fulham. The deal is reportedly worth an initial £5 million with a further £2.7 million in add-ons, and a 20 percent sell-on clause, was added. The 19-year-old has signed a five-year contract and completed his medical examinations. The teenager is in the final months of his contract. He was supposed to move in the January transfer window, but the deal fell through due to a timing error. Barely two months later, all three parties have reached an agreement. One that doesn’t involve the Portuguese moving back to West London on loan for the 2022/23 campaign.
Carvalho has remained a key player for Marco Silva’s side despite the events of the January transfer window deadline day. He has scored eight goals and assisted seven in 31 games so far. These numbers include a goal in the 4-1 loss to Manchester City in the FA Cup fourth round. He also made his debut for the Portugal under-21s last month. Liverpool have snapped up another Fulham starlet after Harvey Elliot’s move to Anfield in 2019. Fulham are currently 11 points clear of Bournemouth at the top of the Championship table, and are looking to secure promotion back to the Premier League.
