Official: Atletico Madrid sign Nahuel Molina from Udinese for €20M on a 5-year contract

Atletico Madrid have signed Udinese right-back Nahuel Molina on a 5-year contract. The Argentine joins Diego Simeone’s side for €20M.

Nahuel Molina will fix a glaring problem in Atletico’s side.

When Kieran Trippier left for Newcastle, they brought in Daniel Wass from Valencia, but he was a disappointment in Madrid. To make matters worse, Šime Vrsaljko is heading to Greek giants Olympiacos. 

Atletico Madrid’s right-back position is a gaping hole that they needed to fix.

Atletico Madrid need a right-back like Nahuel Molina so Marcos Llorente can be shifted back to forward positions. The Boca Juniors academy graduate is an offensive weapon, who is still finding himself defensively. He can make the right-back position his own for years.

Nahuel Molina scored seven goals and created seven big chances for Udinese in Serie A last season. The marauding right-back will add some thrust and attacking impetus to Los Colchoneros, who will be looking to fight for the title.

The 24-year-old has been called up regularly by Lionel Scaloni for Argentina and has picked up the Copa America & Finalissima titles.
