OFFICIAL: Fulham sign Issa Diop from West Ham on a 5-year deal
Fulham have completed the signing of Issa Diop from West Ham on a five-year deal for £15 million the club has announced.
The 25-year-old Diop had one year left on his contract at West Ham and has signed for Fulham after completing a medical this week and agreeing on personal terms. He will wear the number 31 shirt.
Diop could even feature in the Hammer’s Premier League trip to Wolves on Saturday.
Diop becomes Fulham’s seventh summer signing after securing deals for Manor Solomon, Andreas Pereira, Kevin Mbabu, Bernd Leno, Shane Duffy, and Joao Palhinha.
Diop made 119 appearances for West Ham in all competitions, scoring eight goals following his arrival from Ligue 1 club Toulouse in 2018. However, Diop only played 13 Premier League games last season as David Moyes preferred Kurt Zouma and Craig Dawson.
Diop to FFCTV: “I’m very happy, very happy to join Fulham. I hope it’s going to be a very good chapter of my career.
“It’s all official now, so I’m happy. I just want to train with the team now, and let’s get to work.”
Tony Khan added: “I’m very excited that we’ve brought Issa Diop to Fulham.
“Issa is a talented and imposing defender whom we’ve pursued for a long time, and his experience and formidable presence will be important to our squad in this Premier League season and for us to build a bright future in the years ahead!”
