OFFICIAL: Zlatan Ibrahimovic has signed a new 1-year deal with AC Milan that will take him past his 41st birthday
Zlatan Ibrahimovic has signed new deal with AC Milan despite nursing a long-term injury the club has announced. The new deal will take the Swede past his 41st birthday as he refuses to retire. Ibracadabra will remain a Rossoneri player for the 2022-23 season, but will play a bit-part role with the arrival of Divock Origi and the preseason potency of Olivier Giroud.
Paolo Maldini and Ricky Massara have sealed the signature of the 40-year-old, who is recovering from surgery on a knee injury that will keep him out until the new year. The deal will have a fixed salary lower than his previous deals he signed for the Serie A champions. AC Milan released an official statement confirming fresh terms for Zlatan Ibrahimovic. It reads: “AC Milan is pleased to announce the renewal of Zlatan Ibrahimović’s contract until June 30, 2023. The Swedish forward will continue to wear the number 11 shirt.”
