Sevilla agree deal to sign free agent Isco
Sevilla have announced an agreement in principle to sign attacking midfielder Isco on a free transfer.
The 30-year-old attacking midfielder left Real Madrid after the club refused to renew his contract and will now join Julen Lopetegui’s side.
Isco had interest from Jose Mourinho/AS Roma and Real Betis but insisted he wanted a club with UEFA Champions League football. He will now get his wishes after rejecting those interests.
Isco spent nine years in Real after joining for €30 million. He was crucial to their earlier title wins with Los Blancos, but his impact has faded. Injury and attitude problems were some of the reasons for him being sidelined.
He will now join Lopetegui in Seville. A manager under whom Isco enjoyed success at Madrid and the Spanish national team.
