Sven Botman inching closer to AC Milan from Lille
AC Milan has agreed on terms with LOSC Lille defender Sven Botman after holding positive talks in the last week. They are yet to agree on a fee with the Ligue 1 champions, but all signs point to a move in the summer. The Netherlands U21 international has been heavily linked with a move to the San Siro for months, while Lille rejected a bid from Newcastle United in January. Milan has been negotiating with Lille regarding a double deal for Botman and midfielder Renato Sanches, and the Rossoneri now believe they have secured the services of the central defender. They are set to lose Alessio Romagnoli to Lazio so Ricky Massara and Paolo Maldini are trying to secure a replacement early enough. Botman joined Lille from Ajax in the summer of 2020 and helped the club win the Ligue 1 title last season.
AC Milan is in the middle of a tight Scudetto race under Stefano Pioli. They are one point clear at the top, but they are already planning for next season. Sven Botman could be one of the first signings this summer.
