Thebe Magugu’s SS25 Collection ‘Reparations’: Football Meets Fashion in a Tale of Reconnection

Thebe Magugu, the South African fashion designer whose work has graced some of the most prestigious runways, captivated the global stage with his Spring/Summer 2025 collection, ‘Reparations’. Debuting during Paris Fashion Week, the entire collection is an artistic masterpiece but what we cannot get enough of is incorporating some Jersey inspired looks into his collection which was both symbolic and nostalgic.

It represents a connection to his father, a football enthusiast, and reflects a shared language of camaraderie and pride that transcends familial estrangement.

“Football has always been a part of my childhood memories, even during times of distance,” Magugu explained post-show. “It’s a symbol of togetherness, whether in the stands, on the pitch, or watching from home.”
