Torino's Gleison Bremer set to join Juventus ahead of Inter Milan
Gleison Bremer to Juventus
Juventus have moved ahead of rivals Inter Milan in the race to sign Gleison Bremer from Torino according to reports in Italy. The Bianconeri are losing Matthijs De Ligt to Bayern Munich and have chosen the Serie A defender of the year as his replacement. Bremer was a target for the Nerazzurri who are losing Milan Skriniar to PSG, but Juventus are moving to hijack the deal for themselves. The Brazilian defender was one of the best in Serie A last campaign as he marshalled Ivan Juric’s defense. The 25-year-old recorded the most interceptions among defenders in Europe’s top five leagues last campaign. Torino had the 5th best defense in the Serie A last season.
Chelsea and Inter Milan have been mooted as contenders for his signature. The latter had even started laying the groundwork for a transfer, but Juventus are more than ready to take over.
Juventus have already signed Angel Di Maria and Paul Pogba. Bremer could be their next move.
How will Bremer fit in under Max Allegri?
Juventus boss Max Allegri has favored a back four since his return to Turin, but it does not look like a problem for Bremer who has predominantly played in a back three at Torino. He has the athletic frame to get around and brilliant reading of the game to match. He will excel in any system.
